Admission Process 2008

The process of Admissions to first year of various undergraduate courses in Delhi University Colleges starts around the middle of June every year. Students have to apply on prescribed forms available from respective colleges. The university also issues a centralized admission form which can be used. However, there are colleges that insist you to submit their college admission form. Some colleges, which have computerized admissions, allow you to apply for up to six courses on a single form. Others may give you a choice of up to three courses. Admissions to most courses are done on merit and most of the colleges bring out at least three admission lists (normally after a gap of 3 days after each list ) or till the seats in a particular course are filled-up. You may check the cut-off percentages of the last year to get an idea of how many marks you need to get into the course and college of your choice.

There are a few colleges which will require you to sit for an entrance exam to apply for certain courses. Few of the courses and colleges that require students to sit for an entrance exam are:

  • English Honors – Hindu College
  • Economics Honors – Ramjas College

Please note that St. Stephens’ College issues a separate form for applying to the courses the college offers. They follow a different admission procedure and normally have an interview to finalize the list of candidates.
